Is your barrier spray safe for children and animals?
Mosquito Stop uses two primary products that are both safe for your family and pets. The first is an EPA approved pyrethroid solution which is a synthetic form of pyrethrin, a natural product derived from esters found in chrysanthemum flowers. We also use a natural spray derived from rosemary, time, peppermint or cedar wood oil. Regardless of which treatment you choose they are both safe for your children and animals as soon as they dry, generally within 30 minutes of treatment.
Tell me more about your seasonal treatment packages?
If you sign up for a seasonal package, you’ll receive regularly scheduled spray treatments from May to November at a lower price per treatment. Mosquito Stop will notify you 1-2 days prior, to remind you of your upcoming treatment. Consistent treatments are an important factor in eliminating mosquitoes and ticks from your yard.
Do you have a natural option?
Yes, our natural treatment spray gives customers a non-synthetic mosquito and tick elimination option. Made from rosemary oil, thyme, peppermint, the natural solution must be applied every three weeks for optimal effectiveness.
Do I have to be home at the time of the treatment?
No you don’t. We’ll notify you before we come but you don’t need to be home. We’ll also let you know when your treatment is completed, the technician that provided you with the service and what they applied while they were at your home.
Can you apply a treatment prior to an outdoor event?
Keep mosquitoes and ticks away from your next picnic, pool party, wedding or any outdoor event. Mosquito Stop can apply a treatment two days in advance of your event. Contact us at least one week in advance of your event to schedule a spray.
Where can I get a tick tested if I’m concerned about Lyme or other tick-borne diseases?
The Connecticut Agricultural Experiment Station as well as U Mass Amherst at The Center for Agriculture, Food and the Environment, provide tick testing services. There are also several private companies available.
